The Plymouth Lady Rockies Girls Wrestling team kicked off their 2025–26 season with an exciting dual against the Kankakee Valley Lady Cougars, coming up just short in a nail-biting 32–33 final score. Despite the narrow loss, the meet showcased the team’s potential, effort, and competitive spirit as they battled hard in every match. Leading the way for Plymouth were several impressive performances on the mat: • Jaden Eskew (100 lbs) opened the night with a strong win by fall over Kellis O’Donnell. • Kassie Souders (110 lbs) followed with a dominant technical fall victory, defeating Sophia Vespo 16–1. • Angel Smith (125 lbs) secured another fall for the Lady Rockies against Valeria Flores. • Caroline Balica (130 lbs) earned a hard-fought 12–6 decision over Lilly Culbreth. • Ava Lloyd (190 lbs) closed out the dual with a powerful fall over Julia Vallesz. Other strong efforts came from Oreanna Atkins (115 lbs), who lost a close 10–11 decision, and several others who showed determination in tough matchups. The team’s grit and energy kept fans engaged throughout the dual. After the match, the coaching staff praised the group’s focus and resilience: “The Lady Rockies lost a close dual today, but all had positive attitudes and all listened well. It’s back to the practice room tomorrow to keep improving.” The Lady Rockies will return to action Saturday, November 15, at the Sarah Hildebrandt Invitational hosted by Penn High School, beginning at 9:00 a.m. as they continue to build momentum early in the season.
