Cross Country – Miller and Kallenberg Compete at State The Plymouth Cross Country program was proudly represented at the IHSAA State Championships, as Vivy Miller and Freddy Kallenberg capped off outstanding seasons on the biggest stage. • Miller finished 90th overall with a time of 19:17.6, continuing a remarkable year that saw her consistently rank among the state’s top runners. • Kallenberg placed 159th with a strong 16:45.4, rounding out an impressive postseason run. Their performances mark another strong chapter for Plymouth distance running as the program continues to thrive at both the sectional and state levels. ⸻ Football – Rockies Battle to the Wire in Sectional Clash The Plymouth Rockies closed their season with a valiant effort against reigning sectional champion Mishawaka, falling 21–17 despite leading 17–7 at halftime. • Offense: • Ben Shively carried 27 times for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Finn Holm added 69 yards on 19 carries. • Defense: • Lathan Cotton and Brady Coffin each recorded 11 tackles, and Kaden Barrera contributed an interception. The Rockies finished the year 4–7 overall and 5th in the Northern Lakes Conference, showing resilience and growth in one of the state’s toughest leagues. ⸻ Cheer – Pilgrims Earn 5th at State In just their first year of competition, the Plymouth Cheer Team made history, finishing 5th overall in the Game Day Division at the State Championships. Coach Langowski praised the squad’s energy and progress, noting how quickly they’ve risen among established programs. The team now shifts focus to the IASP State Competition this weekend in New Castle. ⸻ Girls Basketball – Lady Pilgrims Open with Two Wins The Lady Pilgrims tipped off their season with strong performances in both their scrimmage and opening-night victories. • Scrimmage vs. Wabash: • Chloe Horton led all scorers with 26 points and 5 steals, while Hayden Shipley added 16 points, 4 assists, and 8 deflections. • Ella Davis chipped in 4 points and 8 rebounds, and Olivia Warner tallied 5 assists and 6 steals. • Season Opener vs. LaVille: • JV: Plymouth won 22–16, led by Ella Murphy (7 pts, 5 rebounds), Hanley Feldman (7 pts, 5 rebounds), and Brooklyn Scruggs (6 pts, 3 steals). • Varsity: The Lady Pilgrims earned a 44–37 victory, led by Lydia Wray (12 pts), Chloe Horton (15 pts), and Olivia Warner (9 pts). The Pilgrims shot 33% from the field and forced 26 turnovers in the win. They next travel to Mishawaka Marian on Tuesday. ⸻ Wrestling – Lady Rockies Set to Open The Lady Rockies Wrestling Team began practice this week in preparation for their first meet on November 11 vs. Kankakee Valley. The squad looks to build off a successful debut season and continue growing participation across all weight classes. ⸻ Swimming – Lady Pilgrims Hit the Pool The Plymouth Girls Swim Team officially started practices this week. They’ll open the season on November 13 with a home quad meet against Oregon-Davis, South Bend Washington, and Jimtown. ⸻ Boys Basketball & Gymnastics – Seasons Approaching Both Boys Basketball and Gymnastics are gearing up for the winter season. • Boys Basketball begins practice on November 10 as the Pilgrims prepare for another competitive NLC campaign. • Gymnastics starts November 17, with returning talent and new faces ready to make an early impact.
