Freshman Baseball - Pilgrims End Season With Mishawaka

Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 15-3 loss to Mishawaka Cavemen Freshman on Tuesday. Mishawaka Cavemen Freshman scored on a walk by Lucas DeWilkens in the first inning. The Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Mishawaka Cavemen Freshman, giving up 15 runs. Mishawaka Cavemen Freshman got on the board in the first inning when DeWilkens drew a walk, scoring one run. Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman put up three runs in the third inning. Parker Wolfe and Braxton White all drove in runs in the frame. Mishawaka Cavemen Freshman scored eight runs in the fourth inning. Mishawaka Cavemen Freshman's big inning was driven by walks by Chase Camacho and Jack Taylor, singles by DeWilkens and Noah Deeds, a triple by Kole Neace, and a groundout by Colton Handley. Brady Francis earned the victory on the hill for Mishawaka Cavemen Freshman. Francis allowed six hits and three runs over four and a third innings, striking out nine. Cayson Meyer threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Grady Metsker took the loss for Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman. The pitcher surrendered six runs on six hits over two innings, striking out one and walking one. Wolfe led Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman with two hits in three at bats. Mishawaka Cavemen Freshman collected 11 hits on the day. Neace, DeWilkens, Francis, Handley, and Deeds all managed multiple hits for Mishawaka Cavemen Freshman. Mishawaka Cavemen Freshman didn't commit a single error in the field. Taylor had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
