JV Volleyball – Pilgrims Edge Bremen in Three The Plymouth JV Lady Pilgrims picked up a gritty 2–1 victory over Bremen, winning by scores of 25–11, 21–25, and 15–3. The team leaned on consistent serving and strong net play, showcasing their growth as a unit. • Trenity – 6 kills, 4 aces • Cordelia – 6 kills • Claire – 16 assists The balanced attack and steady defensive effort gave Plymouth the momentum it needed to close out the decisive third set in commanding fashion. ⸻ Varsity Volleyball – Pilgrims Prevail in Five The Varsity Lady Pilgrims also walked away victorious, battling through five sets to defeat host Bremen (25–6, 22–25, 25–18, 23–25, 15–13). Plymouth dominated the opening set before the Lions clawed back to even things. In a back-and-forth match, the Pilgrims showed resilience, edging Bremen 15–13 in the fifth to secure the win. ⸻ JV Boys Soccer – Bushell’s Hat Trick Sparks Win The Plymouth JV Boys Soccer team dominated at home, defeating Culver Academies 4–0. The Pilgrims controlled possession from start to finish, using crisp passing and bench depth to keep CMA under constant pressure. • Lucian Bushell – Hat trick (3 goals, 1 assist) • Santos Marin – 1 goal • Andrew Baker – 2 assists • Ian Rodriguez – 1 assist Bushell’s breakout performance headlined a balanced team effort that keeps the JV squad’s momentum rolling. ⸻ Varsity Boys Soccer – Eagles Edge Pilgrims Late In Varsity play, the Pilgrims dropped a 4–2 decision to Culver Academies. The Eagles built a 2–0 halftime lead and extended it in the second half, but Plymouth showed fight despite playing a man down after a red card. Senior Carlos Nieves sparked a rally with two goals, both assisted by Hector Rebollo, tying the match at 2–2 with five minutes to go. Culver capitalized on its advantage, however, netting two late goals to secure the win. ⸻ Boys Tennis – Pilgrims Sweep Mishawaka on Senior Night The Plymouth Boys Tennis team earned a special 5–0 victory over Mishawaka on Senior Night at the Mary Beth Hunter Tennis Complex. With Mishawaka fielding only five players, the Pilgrims started with a 2–0 advantage. On court, the Pilgrims were flawless: • Liam Hanyzewski (1S) won 6–0, 6–1. • Nick Manzuk & Owen Walleske (1D) dominated 6–0, 6–0. • Jonah Rich & Benson Prater (2D) rolled to a 6–0, 6–3 win. The victory gave all seven varsity players their first NLC win of the season. Seniors Manzuk, Walleske, and Rich, along with managers Sophia Cantero and Mia Hartley, were recognized for their dedication and leadership. JV Recap The JV team also had a strong night, defeating Triton 6–1. Logan Nelson (1S) went 2–0 with a pair of tiebreak wins, while Brogan Mahoney (2S) swept through three opponents, dropping only two games. Doubles partners Carter Breeding and Cole Cain recovered from a tight opening loss to dominate their second match. ⸻ Cross Country – Pilgrims Show Grit in Conference Test Plymouth’s Cross Country teams ran with heart against some of the toughest competition in the NLC. Boys – 8th Place Finish The Pilgrims finished 8th overall, led by Freddy Kallenberg with a top-15 placement. Ethan Podlesak, Nolan Carroll, Aidan Faulstich, and Jaxon O’Connor each turned in strong performances, with O’Connor’s 19:12 clocking besting Coach Nordmann’s own freshman PR. Girls – 6th Place Finish The Lady Pilgrims placed 6th overall, paced by Brooklyn Scruggs and Edith Loera, along with consistent support from their teammates. The depth and teamwork on display highlighted the group’s steady improvement and determination as the season moves forward.
