It was a packed night of competition for Plymouth Athletics, with Boys Tennis, Girls Soccer, Freshman Football, and Volleyball all in action against tough Northern Lakes Conference rivals. ⸻ Boys Tennis – Concord 5, Plymouth 0 The Pilgrims hosted Concord and fell 5-0 in Varsity play, dropping to 2-9 overall (0-4 NLC). • Singles • 1S: Adam Burkert (C) def. Liam Hanyzewski (P) 6-0, 6-0 • 2S: Brodie Hershberger (C) def. Jonah Rich (P) 6-0, 6-0 • 3S: Alex Kridler (C) def. Caleb Edmiston (P) 6-0, 6-0 • Doubles • 1D: Ulfig/Flores (C) def. Manzuk/Walleske (P) 6-3, 6-2 • 2D: Hausbach/McEachern (C) def. Prater/Tyler (P) 6-0, 6-1 The JV team also fell 5-2, though Plymouth earned victories behind Brogan Mahoney in singles and the doubles team of Breeding/Cain, who earned a convincing 6-2 win. ⸻ Freshman Football – Northridge 37, Plymouth 30 The Freshman Rockies dropped to 2-2 overall (1-1 NLC) after a back-and-forth contest on the road. • Scoring Highlights • Grady Scott: Kickoff return touchdown • McKoy Gantz: 40-yard rushing touchdown, 70-yard receiving touchdown • Spencer Goebel: 70-yard touchdown pass • Carter Klingerman: Interception Plymouth’s late rally fell short, but the offense showed big-play capability and the defense forced key turnovers to keep the game close. ⸻ Girls Soccer – Goshen 2, Plymouth 1 The Varsity Lady Pilgrims (1-3-3, 0-2 NLC) fought hard but came up short in a 2-1 loss to Goshen. • Scoring: Ella Young (39:43) provided Plymouth’s lone goal. • Keeper Saves: Lily Drevecky (7 saves combined with Andrea Gonzalez). • Defensive Leaders: Andrea Gonzalez (14 steals), Hayden Shipley and Ella Young (13 each), Lila Hanyzewski (6), and Eva Macey (8). The JV squad battled to a 1-1 draw, with Ana Leanos scoring for Plymouth and leading the defense with 9 steals. ⸻ Volleyball – NorthWood 3, Plymouth 2 The Varsity Pilgrims (9-5) went the distance in a five-set battle with NorthWood but ultimately fell 3-2. • Set Scores: 20-25, 25-22, 7-25, 25-20, 11-15 • Leaders: • Serving: Sophia Stein (4 aces), Olivia Ringer & Kristin Manges (3 each) • Setting: Ringer (26 assists, 21 digs) • Attacking: Jersey Hunter (13 kills), Manges & Eva Sheedy (10 each) • Defense: Ringer (21 digs), Hunter (17 digs) In underclass play, both the Freshman and JV teams fell in straight sets to the Panthers. ⸻ Takeaway It was a tough night on the scoreboard, but the Pilgrims showed grit and flashes of strong play across sports. Volleyball pushed a powerhouse to five sets, Freshman Football nearly completed a comeback on the road, and Girls Soccer continued to find offensive opportunities against a strong Goshen side.
