It was a busy day across multiple sports for Plymouth Athletics, with the Pilgrims competing on the tennis courts, golf course, and cross country trails. ⸻ Boys Tennis – Bremen 4, Plymouth 1 The Plymouth Varsity Boys Tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to Bremen, falling to 2-8 overall (0-3 NLC). • Singles • 1S: Chase Devine (B) def. Liam Hanyzewski (P) 6-2, 6-0 • 2S: Max Barnes (B) def. Jonah Rich (P) 6-0, 6-0 • 3S: Corban VanVuren (B) def. Caleb Edmiston (P) 6-1, 6-0 • Doubles • 1D: Porter/Hickman (B) def. Manzuk/Walleske (P) 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 • 2D: Prater/Tyler (P) def. Varner/McClaid (B) 7-6(3), 6-2 The No. 2 doubles pairing of Benson Prater and Landon Tyler secured Plymouth’s lone point, battling through a first-set tiebreak before pulling away in the second. In JV action, Bremen swept the Pilgrims 9-0, though Plymouth fought through several close matches. ⸻ Girls Golf – Plymouth Splits Triangular The Plymouth Varsity Girls Golf team competed in a triangular against Rochester and Bremen, finishing with a team score of 189. The Pilgrims topped Bremen (248) but fell just short of Rochester (182). • Team Results: Rochester 182, Plymouth 189, Bremen 248 • Plymouth Scores: • Taylor Hauptmann – 42 • Katy Longanecker – 46 • Meredith Borden – 48 • Hanley Feldman – 53 Rochester’s Olivia earned medalist honors with a round of 37. With the split, Plymouth moves to 22-37 overall, 4-3 in NLC play, and 6-6 in duals. ⸻ Cross Country – Plymouth Hosts Hokum Karem Plymouth hosted its annual Hokum Karem relay meet, where two-person teams combined times for scoring. Both the boys and girls teams turned in strong results. • Boys: 2nd place overall (6 schools) • Kallenberg/Podlesak – 1st place (33:03) • Carroll/O’Connor – 7th place (35:49) • Macias/Holderread – 11th place (37:28) • Girls: 1st place overall (6 schools) • Miller/Gurtner – 1st place (39:49) • Scruggs/Schadek – 2nd place (40:34) • Wray/E. Schadek – 6th place (42:58)
