Plymouth High School programs were in full swing on September 2, with soccer, cross country, and girls golf all in action. The day brought strong performances, highlighted by multiple team wins and standout individual efforts. ⸻ JV Boys Soccer – Rockies Edge Elkhart Christian 3-2 The Plymouth JV Boys Soccer team improved to 3-2-1 overall with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Elkhart Christian Academy. The Rockies built a 2-1 halftime lead behind crisp passing and aggressive play, then added a second-half goal to extend their advantage. ECA pushed late, but Plymouth’s defense held firm to secure the win. Individual Highlights • Lucian Bushell – 1 goal, 1 assist • Gustavo Romero – 1 goal • Andrew Baker – 1 goal • Zeke Estrada – 1 assist 📌 Takeaway: The balanced attack once again defined the Rockies’ effort, with all three goals coming from different players. Vivy Miller led the charge with a 3rd-place finish (20:06), while Brooklyn Scruggs (10th – 21:16) and Lauren Gurtner (20th – 21:40) secured key placements. Ryleigh Schadek (28th – 22:12) and Ellie Gifford (38th – 23:01) rounded out the scoring. • Boys: Plymouth finished 8th overall (182 points), averaging 18:42. Freddy Kallenberg (18th – 17:40) and Ethan Podlesak (24th – 18:15) led the way, followed by Nolan Carroll (39th – 18:47), Adan Macias (49th – 19:20), and Chase Holderread (52nd – 19:27). 📌 Takeaway: The Pilgrims showed both balance and depth, with Miller’s podium finish and Kallenberg’s sub-18 performance highlighting the day. ⸻ Boys Soccer – Varsity Shuts Out Elkhart Christian The Plymouth Varsity Boys Soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Elkhart Christian Academy, improving to 4-1-2 overall (0-1 NLC). The Pilgrims split their NLC triangular, defeating Mishawaka (247) but falling to Warsaw. Plymouth now sits at 20-35 overall, 4-4 in duals, and 3-2 in NLC play. Tonight was our best 9-hole score of the year and I know the girls still see where we can improve.
