In a highly competitive match against their Marshall County rival (and potential Regional opponent), Plymouth came out on top by a 3-2 score. The Pilgrims and Eagles split the first two completed matches, with Bella Kain falling to All State candidate Quinn Vasquez at 1S and the Plymouth 1D team of Taylor Delp-Ellie Jones beating a solid opponent while playing their best tennis of the young season. Annie Plothow played another quality match at 2S, winning in straight sets. The 2D team of Morgan Langfeldt-Cassidy Riddle then clinched the match with a quality 6-4, 6-4 win, playing well to end both sets. 3S Tynley Gantz played another long, tough match, this time falling to CGA senior (and last year’s 2S player) Sadie Barrett. The Plymouth JV beat Culver Academy 13-5. Singles winners for the Pilgrims were Tallie Hundt, Izzie Wray, and Natalie Sheely. Doubles winners for the Pilgrims were Emma Jackson-Maddy Thangam, Marley Christy-Cloe Byrd, Lena Houin-Jo Houin, Mia Hartley-Sophia Cantero, Niki Melendez-Claire Lewandowski, Emma Rozycki-Magaly Rodriguez, Maddie Harness-Toni Howard, Mackenzie Himes-Jayden Trump Haskins, Randi Gibbons-Katelyn Golba, and Lyli Seidelmann-Bella Anglin. All in all, it was another quality win for the Pilgrims. After a long week and three quality wins (at Valpo, at Chesterton, vs. CGA), the Varsity Pilgrims host their annual 8-Team Varsity Tourney Saturday, starting at 9:30AM. Teams participating tomorrow include Crown Point, Fairfield, Kankakee Valley, LaVille, Peru, Plymouth, Tippy Valley, and Triton. Should be a great day of tennis! #PTforLIFE
