Freshman Baseball - Pilgrims Lose Heartbreaker To Falcons

Thursday's game against Fairfield Freshman Falcons was a heartbreaker for Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman, as they lost the lead late in a 13-6 defeat. The game was tied at six with Fairfield Freshman Falcons batting in the top of the sixth when Isaac Mast singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. Despite the loss, Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Fairfield Freshman Falcons had 15 hits on the way to victory. Fairfield Freshman Falcons got on the board in the first inning. Harley Garl drew a walk, scoring one run. Wesson Vint got the win for Fairfield Freshman Falcons. The pitcher surrendered six runs on ten hits over five innings, striking out nine. Easton Schrock threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Grady Metsker took the loss for Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman. Metsker went two innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out three. Nick Manzuk started the game for Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman. The pitcher allowed seven hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman totaled ten hits. Manzuk, Logan Collins, and Zach Atkins each collected multiple hits for Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman. Atkins, Collins, and Manzuk each collected two hits to lead Plymouth Pilgrims Freshman. Fairfield Freshman Falcons saw the ball well today, racking up 15 hits in the game. Andrew Matthews, Mast, Warren Kauffman, Colton Robinson, and Grady Chupp all collected multiple hits for Fairfield Freshman Falcons. Fairfield Freshman Falcons was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Garl made the most plays with seven.
