Lady Pilgrims Deliver Weekend Sweep with Dominant Shutout and 7th-Inning Comeback The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims softball team kept the momentum rolling over Easter weekend, delivering a pair of impressive wins—one by sheer dominance, the other in dramatic fashion. The back-to-back victories over Taylor and John Glenn improved the team’s confidence and showcased their versatility on both sides of the ball. On Good Friday, the Lady Pilgrims hosted Taylor under sunny skies and turned in a textbook performance in a 6-0 shutout victory. Junior Aubrey Ferguson was nearly untouchable in the circle, tossing a complete-game one-hit shutout while striking out six Lady Titans. Her command and composure set the tone from the opening pitch. Offensively, Haylee Busse stayed red-hot at the plate, delivering a clutch double and two RBIs to spark the offense. Lexi Pike added a key single and crossed the plate twice, playing a pivotal role in the Pilgrims’ scoring surge. The weather may have turned soggy on Saturday, but the Lady Pilgrims’ grit was waterproof. Taking on a tough John Glenn squad in rainy conditions, Plymouth found themselves trailing late—but refused to fold. Down entering the final frame, the Pilgrims pieced together a seventh-inning rally to secure a thrilling 7-4 comeback win. Haylee Busse once again made her presence felt, launching a home run to lead off the game and finishing with two RBIs. Liz Derifield delivered in the clutch, collecting a single, two RBIs, and scoring twice in a performance that helped ignite the comeback. In the circle, Gracie Patrick was steady and determined, pitching all seven innings, allowing just two earned runs while striking out five Lady Falcons. With a mix of dominant pitching, clutch hitting, and team-first energy, the Lady Pilgrims are proving they’re built for both power and perseverance. They’ll look to carry this momentum into the heart of their schedule as they continue to climb toward their goals this spring.
