The Plymouth Girls Tennis program continued its strong spring start on Wednesday evening, as both varsity and junior varsity teams delivered decisive victories over Elkhart. The Lady Pilgrims varsity squad remained undefeated at 3-0, posting a dominant 5-0 sweep behind powerful play in both singles and doubles. In singles, it was all business from the opening serve. Tynley Gantz, Sophia Cantero, and Mia Hartley each took care of business in straight sets, showcasing not only consistency but also poise under pressure. Their court command and mental toughness have been hallmarks of the team’s early success. The doubles teams followed suit with two strong showings. Marley Christy and Emma Jackson continued to shine at No. 1 Doubles, while Marisa Langfeldt and Natalie Sheely brought home another solid win at No. 2 Doubles. Both teams played with excellent communication and aggressive net play—keys to closing out their matches quickly and efficiently. Meanwhile, the JV Lady Pilgrims celebrated a milestone victory, earning their first win of the season with a convincing 9-4 decision over Elkhart. Leading the charge were Lydia Wray, Meredith Borden, and Katelyn Golba, along with the doubles tandem of Addie Hundt and Jayden Trump-Haskins, who continue to develop their chemistry on the court. “This win was a reflection of the progress our athletes have made day in and day out,” said the coaching staff. “Their focus, effort, and resilience are showing up in matches—and the results speak for themselves.” Up next, the Lady Pilgrims face a tough test at home as they host Culver Academy on Friday at 5:15 PM, followed by their annual Varsity Invitational Tournament on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 AM at the Mary Beth Hunter Tennis Complex.
