The Plymouth Varsity Boys Golf team traveled south over the weekend to compete in the prestigious Harrison Invite, teeing off against some of the region’s toughest competition. Despite early-season conditions and a deep field, the Pilgrims put together a solid showing, placing 9th overall with a team score of 330. Leading the way for Plymouth was junior standout Dan Nguyen, who delivered a composed and consistent round of 78, good enough to earn medalist honors and place 8th individually. Nguyen navigated the course with poise, playing smart golf and finishing strong on a back nine that challenged many in the field. Rounding out the Pilgrims’ scoring were Mac Holm, who turned in a respectable 87, followed closely by Caleb Harland with an 89. Senior Ben Nguyen and sophomore Bryce Busse added rounds of 91 and 93 respectively, contributing to the team’s competitive finish on a challenging layout. With valuable tournament experience now under their belts, the Varsity Pilgrims are set to return to action this Saturday as they travel to Twin Lakes to compete at Tippy Country Golf Club, with the event set to begin at 10:00 AM. Meanwhile, the JV squad will kick off their season at the Rochester Invite, teeing off at 8:30 AM. As both teams continue to build momentum and refine their games, expectations are high for continued growth throughout the spring.
