It was a weekend of valuable lessons and strong responses for the Plymouth Pilgrims baseball program as they faced a road challenge against South Bend Saint Joseph on Saturday before bouncing back in a big way Monday night against John Glenn. Saturday marked the Pilgrims’ first-ever trip to face the formidable Saint Joseph Huskies. The JV squad battled hard in a tightly contested 2-1 loss. Standout performances included Klynt Verhaeghe (1-for-2), Owen Walleske (1-for-3), and Tucker Sarver (1-for-3). On the mound, Adan Macias was efficient and composed, working five strong innings and striking out four. The varsity Pilgrims ran into a red-hot Huskies team, ultimately falling 12-3. Despite the scoreline, there were bright spots. Parker Wolfe continued his consistent approach at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two walks, while Trey Delp added a hit in four at-bats and Dom Vasquez contributed a 1-for-3 effort. If Saturday was a challenge, Monday night was the response. The JV Pilgrims hosted John Glenn at Bill Nixon Field and delivered a statement victory, winning 15-5 in five innings. The offense came alive behind contributions from Verhaeghe (1-for-3), Christian Cruz-Mahler (1-for-3, 2 RBIs), Sarver (1-for-1), and Landon Tyler (2-for-4). Grayson Terrone earned the win in relief, throwing 2.1 innings and striking out five. The varsity squad mirrored the energy on the road at Glenn, powering their way to a convincing 13-5 win. The story of the night belonged to Ben Shively, who went 2-for-2 with 5 RBIs, including a towering home run that helped break the game open. Drake Feece reached base again and was hit by a pitch for the 10th time this season, continuing his tough, team-first presence in the lineup. Aiden Landis picked up the win on the mound, tossing four innings and allowing just two earned runs. With both teams now finding their rhythm, the Pilgrims appear poised for a strong stretch ahead. The blend of steady pitching, timely hitting, and continued development at both levels has Plymouth trending upward—and fast.
