The Plymouth Pilgrims Track & Field teams put on a showcase of speed, strength, and depth during a dominating tri-meet performance this week. Facing off against conference rivals Triton and Bethany Christian, the Pilgrims delivered an emphatic sweep across both boys and girls divisions, with the girls securing commanding wins of 109-22 over Triton and 129-1 over Oregon-Davis, and the boys powering to an 87-44 win over Triton while shutting out Oregon-Davis 126-0. It was a team effort in every sense, with standout performances across the board. Brady Coffin headlined the boys’ sprints, capturing first in the 100 meters and contributing to strong showings in the 200 meters alongside teammates Carter Bush and Jordan Gast. In the 400 meters, Aidan Faulstick took second, while middle-distance stars Hunter Shipley and Ethan Podlesak turned in first-place finishes in the 800 and 1600 meters respectively, showing both grit and pacing expertise. Podlesak continued his dominance with a runner-up finish in the grueling 3200 meters, just behind teammate Freddy Kallenberg, who also won the 3200 and was second in the 1600. In the field events, Kylen Ellery and Caz Hundt were key contributors, with Ellery winning the high jump and long jump, while Hundt added critical points with top-three finishes in the high jump and pole vault. Hudson Davis led the way in the throws, capturing first in both the shot put and discus, supported by CJ DeLee and Carlos Carillo who stacked the top of the podium in both events. On the girls’ side, Taylor Schadek and Eva Macey were standouts on the track. Schadek dominated the 400 meters, while Macey posted a pair of top-three finishes in the 200 and 100 hurdles. Distance runners also brought the heat, with Lena Jones winning the 1600 and Vivy Miller taking the 3200. Lauren Gurtner, Joy Everett, and Lola Hissong went 1-2-3 in the 800 meters in a clean sweep that highlighted the team’s depth. Field events saw continued Pilgrim dominance. Arielle Ferman claimed first in the pole vault and long jump, while also scoring in the hurdles and 200 meters. The shot put and discus were once again a stronghold, with Ava Lloyd, Marissa Kmietak, and Daisy VanMeter stacking points with consistent finishes in both events. As the Pilgrims look ahead to their upcoming meets—the girls host Warsaw on Wednesday, April 16th, and the boys traveling to NorthWood to take on the Panthers and Northridge on Thursday, April 17th—the team’s momentum is undeniable. With depth in every event and leadership from key returners, Plymouth is setting itself up to be a serious contender in the conference and beyond.
