Wrestling Loses Heartbreaker At Warsaw

Plymouth Rockies dropped a heartbreaker against the Warsaw Tigers tonight in the Tiger Den. The match kicked off at 152 lbs. Junior Wesley Smith kept his undefeated streak alive and got the Rockies off to a good start with a Major Decision win. Fellow Junior and brother Caydn Smith added 6 with the pin-fall to give the Rockies a 10-0 lead. Warsaw responded with decision wins at 170lbs and 182lbs Making the score 10-6. Warsaw then added another 12 points with pins at 195lbs and 220lbs. Undefeated Junior Anthony Popi had a great showing at heavyweight with a stick in the 2nd period. At 106lbs Warsaw fired back for a stick of their own making the score 24-16 in their favor. Plymouth gave up forfeit at making the score 30-16. Warsaw added another 10 pts with a Major Dec win at 120lbs and a pin-fall at 126lbs. The Rockies answered back with 3 pins in a row from Chris Firebaugh, Reese McGee and Seth Wright, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory. Final score Warsaw 40 and Plymouth 34. -
