Swimming Takes 2nd In Pilgrim Relays

Plymouth Swimming snagged a 2nd place finish at the annual Pilgrim Relays on Saturday. It was a meet with 7 teams, 19 different relays, and over a hundred athletes. Twin Lakes took the 1st place overall finish with a score of 153 points. Plymouth finished in 2nd with 117 points. The atypical meet featured relays where athletes can participate in 3 different races. All Plymouth boys competed in the maximum number of events including Joseph Stauffer the non-diver jumping in to dive. Lauren Kopetski did the same for the girls. The emphasis on team and fun made the day a success for all teams involved. The girls team was able to snag a few first place finishes: Girl’s 200 Medley Relay - Lucy Keirn, Vivian Wheeler, Kathryn Morrison, Kieran Gritton, 2:00.74 Girl’s 100 Butterfly Relay - Kathryn Morrison, Izzie Wray, Kieran Gritton, Kyleigh Kara, 59.40 Girl’s 400 Free Relay - Marisa Langfeldt, Vivian Wheeler, Kieran Gritton, Kyleigh Kara 4:11.97 Girl’s 200 Back Relay - Meredith Borden, Lauren Kopetski, Marisa Langfeldt, Lucy Keirn 2:17.66 Plymouth returns to NLC competition traveling to Northwood on Tuesday. They will then prepare to face tough competition at the Wawasee Invitational in Syracuse on Saturday.
