Last night the Triton Trojans travelled down old Lincolnway East Highway to face the Pilgrims and came out with a Pilgrim dominating second half win. In a game that was very physical in the beginning and was back and forth with each team trading blows that at halftime the Pilgrims went into the break down 17-19. With some halftime adjustments the Senior lead Pilgrims dominated the 3rd quarter and separated themselves with scoring 20 points in the frame and holding Triton to just 6 points. Late free throws by the Pilgrims put the game away late in the 4th quarter. The Pilgrims shot 40% from the field and an amazing 71% from the free throw line. The Pilgrim defense held the Trojans to just 30% from the field and out rebounded the Trojans 19 to 24. Easton Strain lead all scores and rebounding with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Davis Wray had another strong game with 11 points and 6 assists. The win brings the Pilgrims to 2-0 on the season and the last time the Pilgrims opened the season with 2 straight wins was back in the 2018-2019 season when the Pilgrims would finish the season 15-9. The Pilgrims look to go 3-0 this Friday, December 2nd when the 1-1 LaPorte Slicers come to town. JV tip off is set for 6:30 pm, we will be honoring our youth travel basketball players at the halftime of the JV game and in-between games honoring our Booster Club Scholar Athletes.
