The Freshman Rockies took on Northridge Raiders last night in a chilly but physical game coming out with a 13-20 loss. The Rockies would struggle to find any offensive rhythm in the first half and would give the ball to the Raiders late in the second quarter on a turnover. The Raiders would take a 14-0 halftime lead but the Rockies would find some offensive rhythm and started moving the ball and would finally find the end zone in the middle of the 4th quarter with a quarterback run from Grady Metsker. Northridge answered with a 50 yard touchdown run on the next possession and missing the two point conversion to take a 7-20 lead with 3 minutes to go in the game. The Rockies would drive the field and thanks to some costly penalties by the Raiders would find the end zone off a pass from Metsker to Brady Coffin. The Rockies would miss the extra point from a bad snap and would have to try on onside kick. The Raiders recovered and then ran out the clock. The Rockies were lead on offense by Metsker, Finn Holm, Brady Coffin and Ryan Rudd. The Defense was lead by Van Conley, Reese McGee, and Avery Rivera. The Rockies will finish their season hosting Concord Tuesday, October 18th.
