Boys Tennis - Pilgrims Heartbreak Loss To Bremen In Championship

Bremen Sectional Championship Results Bremen 3 - Plymouth 2 #1 Singles - Mariano Deleon (B) beat Carter Snyder (P) 6-4, 6-0 #2 Singles - Max Varner (B) beat Martin Baca (P) 6-3, 6-3 #3 Singles - Camden Hickman (B) beat Jake Stone (P) 6-2, 6-2 #1 Doubles - Easton Strain/Matt Manzuk beat (P) Micah Porter/Max Barnes (B) 6-1, 6-0 #2 Doubles - Caleb Bowling/Trey Delp (P) beat Brock Ginter/Maddux Hickman (B) 6-4, 6-3 Plymouth battled the host Lions in the Bremen Tennis Sectional Championship Thursday night, but came up on the short end of a close 3-2 decision. Plymouth swept the doubles matches in straight sets, with the teams of 1D Matt Manzuk-Easton Strain and 2D Caleb Bowling-Trey Delp earning those wins. Plymouth's singles players battled in their matches, but were unable to secure the third team point necessary for the win. With their doubles win, Seniors Matt Manzuk and Easton Strain will move on in the Individual Sectional Tournament next week (likely Tuesday or Wednesday) at Culver Academy. Plymouth ends their season with a 7-10 overall record. We say good-bye to six seniors that we will miss next season - Matt Manzuk, Jacob Payne, Cam Shively, Carter Snyder, Jake Stone and Easton Strain. Go Big Red!
