Football - Panthers Too Much For The Rockies

By Brent Corbett | Sep 24, 2022 9:38 AM

The Rockies took on #4 4A Northwood for Homecoming last night and came away with a tough 48-0 loss. The game had a postseason feel with the weather cooling off and a great crowd the Rockies were hoping for an upset but were just not able to find a way to stop the high power offense of Northwood. The Panthers took their opening possession of the game and in two plays found the end zone on a deep pass the was just out of the Rockies defender’s reach. The Rockies offense just couldn’t find its rhythm it had against Mishawaka creating a perfect storm for the Panthers to take advantage. The Rockies defense would improve throughout the first half with only allowing the Panthers to score once in the 2nd quarter and to end the half forcing the Panthers to try a field goal with was stopped from a bad snap. The Panthers though in the second half showed why the are a top 5 team with continuing to put pressure on the Rockies offense and spreading the Rockies defense out. The Rockies are now 0-6 (0-4 NLC) and are on the road to Goshen next week when they take on the Goshen Redhawks with kickoff at 7pm.
