Plymouth fell to Culver 4-1 back on April 12, with four of the five matchups featuring the same opponents Wednesday. Three Singles was the only matchup different Wednesday, as Izzie Wray played a nice first set before falling to her opponent in three sets. 1S Annie Plothow, 2S Tynley Gantz and 2D Lena Houin-Alivia Kizer all fell in straight sets. Annie showed improvement, playing a more competitive match than their previous meeting (6-0, 6-0 on 4/12/24). The other competitive match Wednesday was on the number One Doubles court, where Plymouth’s team of Cassidy Riddle and Emma Jackson battled back from a first set loss to force a deciding third set. Cassidy and Emma did a nice job extending the match, fighting off match points in two different games in the second set before taking the set in a tiebreaker 7-4. The Pilgrims duo ultimately fell in three sets. Coaches Quote: “I’m always sad to see our season end. This group has made significant strides since the beginning of the season, even if the outcomes of some matches (including this one) didn’t always show it. I’ve enjoyed working with this group that is full of positive individuals and great teammates and appreciate the quality of the leadership the Seniors have brought to this team. We will miss these Seniors, but I know they will have tremendous success in whatever they do in the future.” Plymouth finishes the season with an 8-8 Overall Record (4-3 NLC). The Pilgrims finished 2nd Place in the 8-Team Plymouth Tourney, Runner-up at the (LaPorte) Slicer Invite, 4th Place in the NLC Regular Season, 4th Place in the NLC Tournament, and 4th Place Overall in the NLC.
