NLC Tourney First Round Plymouth Results: 1S Brendon LaCounte (NR) beat Carter Snyder (PLY) 6-0, 6-0 Carter will play Finn Babos from Mishawaka in the backdraw Thursday. 2S Andrew Kavanagh (CON) beat Martin Baca (PLY) 6-3, 6-1 Martin will play Ethan Braniff from Mishawaka in the backdraw Thursday. 3S Jake Stone (PLY) beat Adam Burkert (CON) 7-6(4), 6-3 Jake will play Isaac Stahly from Goshen in the semi-finals Thursday. 1D Matt Manzuk-Easton Strain (PLY) beat Jay Duncan-Ty Brooks (WAW) 6-1, 6-0 Matt and Easton will play Charlie Norton-Drew Ryser from Warsaw in the semi-finals Thursday. 2D Caleb Bowling-Trey Delp (PLY) beat Caden Pratt-Evan Byler (WAW) 6-0, 6-0 Caleb and Trey will play Zak Martin-Nolan Mellott from Northridge in the semi-finals Thursday. Overall, the Pilgrims went 3-2 in the first round of the NLC Tourney Wednesday. Carter and Martin ran into tough opponents who played great tennis tonight. Jake won some big points at key times (especially at the end of each set) and battled through a close straight set win. Both doubles teams (Matt/Easton, Caleb/Trey) had convincing wins over Wawasee opponents tonight. Excited to see our guys battle once again tomorrow.
