The Lady Pilgrims after a Senior Night win over Warsaw on Monday, it took a small comeback and a walk-off to defeat the upset minded Redhawks. The Lady Pilgrims would get things started off with a bang with a 1st pitch home run by Haylee Busse and then Kayla Johnson would get a 2 out single that would score 2 runs to get the Lady Pilgrims up 3 to 1 heading to the 2nd. Thats when the Redhawks would put pressure on the Lady Pilgrim defense and would get 4 runs across due to 4 errors by the Lady Pilgrims. In the 5th inning the Lady Pilgrims would tie the game up and have momentum on their side. Back to back doubles in the 7th by the Redhawks would give them the lead heading to the bottom of the 7th. A leadoff single by Elsaya Bohm and a error by the Redhawks got the Lady Pilgrims in scoring position. Rylee Mann would get a swinging bunt to move the runners on 3rd and 2nd forcing a intentional walk to Aubrey Ferguson. Kayla Johnson would come up big with a sac fly to right field to score Bohm to tie the game. Lilly Runyan after struggling lately at the plate but being 1 for 2 going into the at bat would come up huge with a big hit over the shortstops head to get the game winning run to move the Lady Pilgrims to 11 and 8 overall and a tie for 3rd in the NLC being 7-4. The Lady Pilgrims travel to Wawasee on Friday, May 10th with a varsity only contest starting at 5:30 Pm.
