The Pilgrim track and field team took to Warsaw on Wednesday night to take on Warsaw and Wawasee and came back with two tough loses. The Pilgrims would lose to Wawasee 69 to 62 and no score was given from Warsaw vs Plymouth matchup. The Plymouth boys track & field team traveled to Warsaw Wednesday night for a three-way meet against Warsaw and Wawasee. A handful of kids being injured limited us quite a bit on our entries. We tried to give Wawasee a good run, but in the end their depth with sprinters was just too much and they beat us by 7 points. Our kids did great in the field events which is where we scored many of our points. In the relays, our 4x100 and 4x400 ran fastest times of the season which was awesome! We had to scratch our 4x800 because of injuries. Of our 39 athletes, 26 of them had lifetime best marks in at least one event some of these athletes best marks in two events. A few small shoutouts. Shoutout to hurdlers Cole Figg (11) and Ethan O’Leary (10) who had major lifetime PR’s in the 300H. Cole broke 44 seconds for the first time. Shoutout to Michael Manges (11) who we needed last minute for the Varsity 4x400. He ran amazing, and split a 56.5 which helped the team run our fastest time of the season. Shoutout to sprinter Carter Bush (11) who ran a 23.51 in the 200 and beat all of the Warsaw sprinters. Shoutout to Aidan Faulstich (10) in the 800 where he dropped 4 seconds off his lifetime best and ran a 2:05.55 which will be a main event for him come Sectional time. All in all, I am very proud of all these young men and the effort they continue to give. The NLC is tough, and we continue to give our all against these tough opponents.
