The Pilgrims opened up the 2nd round of NLC play with Mishawaka coming to town. The JV Pilgrims competed hard but just allowed one big inning from Mishawaka that would hurt the Pilgrims in the end. The young Pilgrims were led by Ben Shively going 2 for 4 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI, Dominac Vasquez went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI, Heath Swift went 2 for 3 and 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Vasquez started on the mound going 3.2 innings giving up 5 hits and 6 strikeouts. Zach Atkins finished the game going 3.1 innings and allowing 4 hits. The Varsity Pilgrims got their first NLC win of the season defeating the Cavemen 6 to 3. Malachi Sieh got the win throwing 5.2 innings giving up 7 hits, 3 runs and striking out 5. Aiden Lanis got the save coming in and giving up 2 hits and 1 strikeout. Parker Wolfe went 2 for 4 scoring 2 runs and having 1 RBI. Ethan Hall went 2 for 2 with 1 run scored 2 walks and 1 RBI while Ryan Jolly went 1 for 2 with 1 walk and 2 runs scored. The Pilgrims host Concord on Friday, May 3rd when both JV and Varsity both will finish their game from the 1st round of NLC play and will play the last inning of that game before starting the second game. First pitch is set for 5:30 PM.
