Girls Soccer - Lady Rockies Let One Slip Against Mishawaka

The Lady Rockies soccer team took action this morning against the Mishawaka Cavemen. The Lady Rockies were on attack mode from the start of the game with controlling the possession for most of the 1st half. The Lady Rockies got the first goal of the day off the foot of Ella Young with the assist from Lauren Manges in the 21st minute of the first half. The Rockies would only allow 3 shots on goal for Mishawaka with goalie Josalyn Hollar keeping a clean sheet and helping the Rockies go into halftime with a lead. Coming out of the half the Lady Rockies again found the back of the net with Margaux Hundt finding the net again from the assist of Lauren Manges. Mishawaka though would answer with a penalty kick to get close to the Rockies. The Lady Rockies would attack but just couldn’t get past the Cavemen goalie with finishing the game with 17 shots on goal. The Cavemen would find the back of the net two more times with the last score coming in the 76th minute of the match. The Lady Rockies would put pressure and a shot on goal with time expiring but just couldn’t find the back of the net. The Lady Rockies are back in action at home Monday when Concord comes to town. The JV Lady Rockies finished their game in a 1-1 tie. The Rockies record is no 1-7-2 (0-4 NLC).
