The Lady Pilgrims finally got some great weather for tennis last night has they hosted the Goshen Lady Redhawks for Senior night on Tuesday. The Lady Pilgrims would get the victory for both JV and Varsity with the Jv winning score being 8 to 3 and the Varsity 3 to 2. Both 1 Singles of Annie Plothow and 2 Singles of Tynley Gantz shot out to quick leads in the opening set but would see their opponents rally back to take the top two singles matches in straight sets, losing 3-6, 6-0 for Annie and 4-6,2-6 for Tynley. 3 Singles of Izzie Wray came out strong as well, winning the first set quickly. Izzie trailed most of the second set before winning the final three games to take her match in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. The 1 doubles team of Emma Jackson and Cassidy Riddle overcame deficits in both sets with starting out in a 3-0 hole in the first set and then overcame that deficit to win 6-4 and a 5-2 deficit in the second set to win 7-5. The 2 doubles team of Alivia Kizer and Lena Houin set the stage for a epic comeback which saw the duo lose the first set and face a 5-2 deficit in the second set. The Senior team would go on and rally to win the second set in a tiebreaker 7-5 and then take the third set 6-3 and clinching the NLC win for the Lady Pilgrims. The Lady Pilgrims will get to keep that momentum going as they host Bremen tonight starting at 5 PM.
