Softball - Lady Pilgrims Lose Pitcher Dual To Northridge

The Lady Pilgrims played in the biggest game under Coach Johnson era with hosting Northridge and a battler to stay a game behind leader Mishawaka. Northridge was 4-1 in the NLC while the Lady Pilgrims entered the game 5-1. Northridge would get on the board first getting two runs to start the game. In the bottom half of the inning the Raiders would get the Lady Pilgrims to hit the ball right where they were and get out of the inning with no trouble. In the second inning the Raiders would lead off with a triple then score the runner on a ground out to Lilly Runyan at second to get the lead to 3-0. A single and then another triple would extend the Raider lead to 4-0. The Pilgrims would then get the put the pressure on the Raiders defense by getting the bases loaded but wouldn't be able to a run to cross. The Lady Pilgrim defense would settle down and get not allow another score till the 5th inning while the offense for the Lady Pilgrims would get a run to score in the 4th off a single by Lilly Runyan to score Aubrey Ferguson. The Lady Pilgrims were led at the plate by Lilly Runyan going 3 for 3 with an RBI. Aubrey Ferguson would go 1 for 2 with a walk, while Emma Krupp and Kayla Johnson both went 1 for 3. The Lady Pilgrims are back in action Wednesday when they take on the Mishawaka Cavemen at Bethel College with first pitch set for 5:30 PM.
