The Lady Pilgrims tennis team got a first glance at Sectional opponent Culver Academy Friday night in a windy and chilly night. The Lady Pilgrims would battle but would fall 1-4 with the lone win coming from 3 singles Izzie Wray 4-6, 6-2 (10-1). One singles Annie Plothow would lose in straight sets 0-6, 0-6 while Tynley Gantz also lost in straight sets in two singles 1-6, 1-6. One doubles team of Cassidy Riddle and Emma Jackson lost 6-4, 3-6, 3-6 while two doubles of Alivia Kizer and Lena Houin lost 4-6, 2-6. Coach Haeck said, "Culver has a strong program year in and year out and this team was strong again this season. We did some good things tonight on every court." The Lady Pilgrims will have their Tourney at the Mary Beth Hunter Tennis Complex on Saturday when they host, Crown Point, Andrean, Fairfield, Kankakee Valley, LaVille, Tippy Valley and Triton.
