Tennis - Lady Pilgrims Open Up Season With Victory Over John Glenn

The Lady Pilgrims opened up the season on a chilly and windy Friday night in Walkerton to take on the John Glenn Falcons. The Lady Pilgrims would come out hot and get the victory winning 5-0. Earning their first varsity matches for the Lady Pilgrims were Senior Izzie Wray at 3 singles, Junior Emma Jackson at 1 doubles, Senior due Lena Houin and Alivia Kizer at 2 doubles. Junior Tynley Gantz won her match at 2 singles without losing a game, and Annie Plothow began her senior campaign at 1 singles with a nice straight-set win to the lead the Lady Pilgrims. Coach Haeck was very proud of his team after a rough week of weather and having to be indoor, the Lady Pilgrims were excited to get outside and get their first match of the season in. The Jv Lady Pilgrims would get a win over the Falcons 8 to 1. Sophia Cantero would win 8-0, Mia Hartley won 8-1, Izzy Wagner would fight but get the loss 5-8. CLoe Byrd and Jo Houin won 8-0 in doubles, Addie Hundt and Marisa Langfeldt won 8-1, Randi Gibbons and MJ Himes won 6-0, Kloe Espinoza and Jayden Trump Haskins won 6-0, Lilly Aquilla and Katelyn Golba won 6-4 and Madeline Borden and Toni Howard won 6-2.
