Track - Red Devil Classic Indoor Meet

The Track teams went to University of Indianapolis to compete in the Red Devil Classic Indoor hosted by Pike High School on Saturday. This is the first chance the athletes get see how they have improved from last season and get a look at some other competition before outdoor season starts. For the boys track team, Finn Holm was able to get a personal best in the long jump getting a 18'2" earning him 17th out of 26 jumpers. Brady Coffin jumped 17'11" and was 20th. For the 60 meter dash, Carter Bush made his track debut running a 7.49 taking 19th out of 45 sprinters. Ethan O'Leary also making his track debut, ran a 7.8 which was good enough for 33rd. The 4x200 relay ran very well and placed 17th out of 22 teams and the 4x400 just missed breaking 4 minutes and was 14th out of 18 teams. Coach Nordmann was very proud of the way the team ran and their efforts. He stated, "the kids have worked hard the past couple weeks and performed well in their opening meet." For the Lady Pilgrims this as a great showcase in the depth the team has and their versatility throughout the event. In the 60m hurdles, Alexis Doll finished 9th with a personal best time of 10.76, while Eva Macey finished 11th with a personal best time of 10.77. In the 60m dash, Heaven Trevino ran a person best time of 9.27, while Alana Allen notched a new personal best time and program indoor record of running 8.01 which was the 5th fastest time of the day. In the finals Alana would finish 7th after tripping out of the blocks. In the 3200m run Bailey Edmiston ran a season best time and finished 15th, while teammate Vivy Miller notched a person best time of 12:58.43 finishing 11th in her indoor debut. Danica Davids in her indoor debut threw the shot put 31'2" finishing 12th and earning a personal best. Marissa Kmiatek threw a personal best for her eclipsing 32 feet on her first try with a throw of 32'0.5" taking 8th place. The team of Taylor Schadek, Lola Hissong, Sophie Wray and Ally Schadek ran a time of 11:28.79 for the 4x800 team finishing 7th in a solid field. The 4x200 team of Yuli Contreras, Heaven Trevino, Naroa Eciolaza and Alana Allen ran a time of 1:59.15 taking 12th place while the DMR relay team of Ellie Gifford, Alexis Doll, Ally Schadek and Sophie Wray ran a 14:33.27 taking 6th place. The 4x400 team ran a 4:50.81 and took 12th. Coach Stiles was very proud of the effort of the young ladies and was great to see where our athletes stand after integrating all the winter athletes. The Lady Pilgrims were the sole Northern Indiana team to compete in the Red Devil Classic. The Track team will compete in the Bulldog Classic this coming Saturday at Indiana Tech.
