Gymnastics - Lady Pilgrims Get 4th In Sectional. Hunter Advances

The Lady Pilgrims traveled to Lakeland on Saturday to compete in the IHSAA Sectional. Last year the Lady Pilgrims were able to get 3rd and advance as a team to the Regional but this year saw how stacked this Sectional was with great talent and teams coming out of Lakeland Sectional. The Lady Pilgrims would get 4th with 100.675 points just falling behind rival Elkhart who scored 103.775. Angola would win the Sectional scoring 108.775 with DeKalb getting 2nd with 104.100 points. In the vault Jersey Hunter would finish 3rd with a score of 9.3, Arielle Ferman scored a 9.025 good for 9th, Joy Everett finished 14t with a 8.825, Sue Everett finished 19th scoring a 8.6. In the bars Jenna Blake finished in a tie with teammate Jersey Hunter finishing 12th scoring 7.525, Arielle Ferman was 16th scoring 6.850 and Lila Hanyzewski was 18th scoring 6.675. In the beam Lila Hanyzewski wold place 8th scoring a 8.350, Jersey Hunter scored 8.225 finished 12th, Arielle Ferman was 14 scoring 8.0, Joy Everett scored a 7.450 placing 20th. On the floor the Lady Pilgrims wold place Jersey Hunter 2nd scoring a 9.550 just behind the floor winner from DeKalb who scored a 9.575. Arielle Ferman scored a 8.80 placing 12th, Lil Hanyzewski scored a 8.70 placing 16th, Sue Everett scored 7.750 placing 22nd. In the All-Around Jersey Hunter would get 6th place scoring 34.6 advancing her to the Huntington North Regional, while teammate Arielle Ferman would place 11th scoring 32.675. Jersey will be at Huntington North Saturday, March 2nd with competition starting at 11 am.
