The Freshman Pilgrims hosted Concord for the 1st round of the NLC tournament. The Pilgrims were looking to get back from earlier in the season when Concord came and defeated the Pilgrims 30 to 37. The Pilgrims would struggle in the 1st quarter trailing the hot shooting Minutemen 6 to 18. In the 2nd quarter the Pilgrims would find their stride and came out attacking the rim and putting pressure on the Concord offense. The Pilgrims would trail going into the half 16 to 30. The Pilgrims would make some halftime adjustments and would look like a completely different team in the second half coming out more aggressive on the defense and offensive end. The Pilgrims would out score the Minutemen in the second half but fell short in the end 44 to 47. The Pilgrims were led by Ben Nguyen scoring 18 points, Hudson Davis with 9 and Davis Jones with 7 points. The Pilgrims will travel to Warsaw on Saturday to play NorthWood in the 2nd round of the NLC tournament and will wait for either Wawasee or Warsaw for the final round. Tip for the 2nd round will start at 9 am.
