The Pilgrims hosted the Zebras from Rochester on Tuesday night and came out splitting between the JV and Varsity. The JV Pilgrims would struggle from the field all night shooting 30% from the field. The JV Zebras shot 58% from the field and caused the Pilgrims 10 turnovers and just put pressure on every shot. Kylen Ellery had another great game for the young Pilgrims as he scored 24 points with 5 rebounds. Parker Wolfe scored 8 points with 5 rebounds while Parker Bagley, Kaden Milliser and Ben Ngyuen each scored 3 points. The loss moved the JV Pilgrims to 12-6 overall. The Varsity Pilgrims would have to battle all night with a very tough and physical Zebra team that came out looking for an upset. After the 1st quarter being deadlock at 20 apiece the Zebras would outscore the Pilgrims in the 2nd 18 to 12 by passing through the Pilgrims defense and getting second chance buckets. The Pilgrims would be down by 6 heading into the break and would make some great halftime adjustments to take the lead heading into the 4th quarter. Preston Wolfe would led all scoring with 19 points, Kayden Ellery would chip in 15 points with 14 rebounds, Coby Walters add 13 points and Trenton Van Duyne had 7 points. The win moves the Pilgrims to 7-11 overall and gives great momentum heading into Friday when the Pilgrims travel down old 30 to take on rival Warsaw in the Tiger Den. Jv tip is set for 6:15 PM.
