The Rockies hosted the IHSAA Sectional 3 on Saturday and with a tough field the Rockies got 2nd behind Rochester who scored a team total of 256.5 while the Rockies scored 238.5. The Rockies though would get 5 Sectional champions and advance a total of 11 Rockies to the Penn Regional on Saturday, February 3rd. Alonzo Chantea would win his weight class of 106 and defeated Rochester's Grant Holloway to make his Senior year record 39-2. In the 113 weight class Jesse Allmon advances by placing 4th making his season record 21-19 while in the 120 weight class London Beaumont finished 3rd with a 29-11 record going into Regional. Coen Kraemer finished 2nd and is 31-10 on the year, Seth Wright would win his weight class of 132 and has a 32-7 record going into Regionals. Wesley Smith continues to win becoming a back to back Sectional Champ at 138 weight class and is now 40-1. In the 144 weight class Chris Firebaugh made it an exciting Sectional match that led to a pin to win the Sectional and is now 33-5 in his junior year. Cadyn Smith in the 150 weight class is now 40-1 on the year after winning his weight class. Braxton White in the 157 weight class would have to battle injury but placed 4th. to advance and is 19-9. In 165 Aden Van Dusen placed 4th and in the 175 Freshman Daley Mullins ends his season finishing 6th and was 8-25 on his Freshman season. John Klinedinst in the 215 weight class was also dealing with a leg injury and would finished 5th and will be an alternate for the Regional and will have a record of 20-18 on his Sophomore season. Anthony Popi placed 2nd in Sectional behind Rochesters Brady Beck who defeated Popi in the Bob Read Classic earlier in the year. Popi will enter the Regional with a record of 37-4. The Pilgrims again will face off in the Penn Regional Saturday, Feb. 3rd at Penn High School.
