Girls Basketball - Pilgrims Split on the road to Wawasee

The Lady Pilgrims took on the Lady Warriors on Saturday night and came with a split with the JV losing 19 to 23 and Varsity pulling out a upset defeating the Warriors 45 to 38. In the JV game the Lady Pilgrims and Warriors played a defensive battle the entire game not allowing any team to score in double digits in a quarter. The Pilgrims were led by Bailey Edminston with 6 points and 7 deflections, Peyton Ellinger with 4 points and 7 rebounds and Leila Leiselang with 7 rebounds. The JV Pilgrims are now 7-11 on the season and 2-4 in the NLC. The Varsity Lady Pilgrims came out shooting in the 1st quarter scoring 13 points and holding a Wawasee team that was shooting well with 7 points. In the second half the Lady Pilgrims would out score the Warriors 23 to 16 to hold on to win 45 to 38 in a big road conference win for the Lady Pilgrims. Mady Sullivan had 7 points, Sophie Miller had 7 points, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds. Lena Jones again had a strong game with 14 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds, Tynley Gantz had 5 points and 5 steals. Rylee Mann just missed out a double double with 7 points and 9 rebounds. Alana Allen finished out the scoring for the Pilgrims with 5 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. The Lady Pilgrims scored 16 field goals on 10 assists and made every shot for the Warriors difficult on multiple trips on the defensive end. The Lady Pilgrims will host CGA on Tuesday, January 23rd for Senior night with the JV starting at 6 PM.
