The Lady Pilgrims were finally able to host a home event on Tuesday night with New Prairie and Westville after missing out on their home invite because of the the winter storm on Saturday. The Pilgrims won by the score of 96.6 for Plymouth, New Prairie 91.75 and Westville 82.4. Jersey Hunter was able to finish 2nd in all events while Arielle Ferman got 3rd place in vault and floor. Joy Everett was 4th in the vault while Lila Hanyzewski was 4th in beam and all around but 5th in vault and 6th in bars and floor. Jenna Blake was 4th in bars, 5th in beam and 6th all around. Amyra Bencharr finished 6th in bars while Senior Sophia D'Alonzo finished 4th on floor for the varsity and jv 1st in vault and 3rd in bars for the jv portion. For the rest of the JV portion of the meet Susie Everett finished 1st on bars, beam, floor and the all around and 2nd on vault. Daniela Moreno finished 2nd on vault, bars and all around. Damaris Aguilar was 2nd in beam and floor. Amyra Benchaar was 2nd in beam and floor. The Lady Pilgrims did have some amazing results with 6 Pilgrims getting personal bests on their rotations. Arielle Ferman got a PR on bars scoring a 6.35 and on floor scoring 8.6. Lila Hanyzewski got a 6.8 on bars while Susie Everett scored a 8.25 on beam. Senior Lilly Hinderlider got her personal best on floor scoring a 6.6. Amyra Benchaar scored a 7.7 on vault and Sophia D'Alonzo scored a 7.65 on vault. Coach Bender was very happy to see that the Lady Pilgrims scored a season high which is showing the improvement that these ladies are showing. The Lady Pilgrims were able to honor not only their two seniors in Lilly Hinderlider and Sophia D'Alonzo but also before the meet honored the seniors for both New Prairie and Westville. The Lady Pilgrims will compete again Saturday when they travel to Concordia Lutheran to compete in their invite starting at 11:30 am. The Pilgrims will have their last home meet on Monday, January 22nd when they have West Noble and Wawasee starting at 6:30 pm.
