If back in August you would of told Angel Smith that she would be the 1st Female in Plymouth's history to make it to State in wrestling she would have probably punched you. Back in August Angel would break her back competing in a wrestling competition. She has overcome the adversity in getting back in shape and condition to wrestle. Her Coach and Dad had this to say about Angel, "As a coach, I’m extremely happy and impressed with how she wrestled. As her father, I am proud of how she overcame a season ending injury, breaking her back in August, and deciding that she was gonna control her own fate. She did everything she was supposed to and then some, to be able to compete, then she went out and showed what that kind of determination can lead to. It's literally the kind of thing they make movies about.” Angel will compete Friday, January 12th at Kokomo High School starting at 11 am.
