The Pilgrims traveled to Tippy Valley Saturday night and came out with a tough split with the Jv winning in comeback fashion forcing a overtime while Varsity lost on a last second shot. The JV starting things off with battling in the first half and taking a 1st half lead. The Vikings of Valley though would battle back and the Pilgrims would struggle to find offensive rhythm and trail heading into to the final frame. The Pilgrims though would battle back and force overtime and would take over from there winning 45 to 42. The Jv was led by Kadin Milliser and Kylen Ellery scoring 13 points each. Parker Bagley and Parker Wolfe would score 7 each to help the Pilgrims bounce back after a tough loss to Mishawaka. The JV Pilgrims are now 9 and 2 overall on the season and 0 and 2 in the NLC. The Varsity Pilgrims would have a back and forth battle with a tough Vikings team that averages 55 points a game and coming off a tough game with a physical Mishawaka team the Pilgrims would lose to heartbreak 44 to 45. The Pilgrims would get a shot at the end of the game with Preston Wolfe getting a look but just couldn't find the net. The Pilgrims trailed for most of the game but battled and showed some fight that wasn't there on Friday night. The Pilgrims were led by Coby Walters scoring 13 points and Kadyn Ellery scoring 10. Preston Wolfe and Dan Nguyen both scored 7 points. The Pilgrims are now 5 and 6 overall and will play Concord on January 12th at home with JV starting things off at 6:15pm. The Pilgrims will honor the Riverside and St. Michaels basketball teams during the JV halftime.
