The Lady Pilgrims welcomed the Mishawaka Cavemen into the Rock for a Saturday afternoon contest. The Lady JV Pilgrims came out with a great defensive game plan that they held the Cavemen to only 2 points in the 1st half and 12 for the game. The JV Pilgrims though came out sharing the ball and found the bottom of the net in the second and 3rd quarter. The Lady Pilgrims were led by Taylor Hauptmann scoring 7 points and getting 5 rebounds while Peyton Ellinger still continues to improve on her freshman season scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The Pilgrims all together had 12 steals and 14 deflections in the game which led to the NLC victory. The Varsity Pilgrims continued the JV effort creating turnovers and getting transition buckets from those turnovers. The Lady Pilgrims held Mishawaka to just 12 first half points with a team that was averaging 41 points a game. Leading the way for the Pilgrims was Lena Jones with 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Sophie Miller scored 15 points and 4 rebounds, while Tynley Gantz scored 11 points and Rylee Mann had 13 points and 5 deflections. The win moves the Lady Pilgrims to 8 and 8 overall and 1 and 2 in the NLC. The Lady Pilgrims will be back in action Tuesday, January 9th when they host the LaPorte Slicers with the JV tip being set for 6:30 PM.
