By Brent Corbett | Jan 6, 2024 4:46 PM
The Pilgrims are coming off both JV and Varsity winning the Holiday Tournament and looking to start the 2024 year on the right note but unfortunately the Pilgrims just couldn't overcome some early struggles and came out with 2 losses wit the Jv losing 36 to 51 and Varsity losing 43 to 59. The Jv would get their second loss on the season with having 18 turnovers on the night and couldn't overcome the run that the Cavemen used in the second half to pull away. The JV Pilgrims are now 0-2 in the NLC and 8 and 2 overall. The Pilgrims were led by Parker Bagley scoring 15 points, Hayden Feldman scoring 6 points and 4 rebounds, Kaden Milliiser getting 6 points and 4 rebounds. Kylen Ellery would round out the scoring for the Pilgrims getting 4 points. The Varsity Pilgrims would fight hard in the 1st half with leading scoring Kayden Ellery being in foul trouble and Preston Wolfe struggling to find his shot and only being down by 3 at the half. The Pilgrims would run out of steam in the 2nd half and the final score would be 43 to 59. The Pilgrims will take this game and learn to overcome some mistakes and get better as the season goes on. The Pilgrims were led by Coby Walters scoring 12 points, Dan Nguyen getting 8 points, and Preston Wolfe ending with 8 points. The Varsity Pilgrims are now 5-5 on the season overall and 0-2 in the NLC. The Pilgrims travel to Tippy Valley Saturday with the JV tip set for 6:15 PM.
