The Pilgrims hosted the Jimtown Jimmies on Tuesday night and came out with two tough nosed wins. The JV Pilgrims got things started by defeating the Jimmies 45 to 24. The Pilgrims jumped out with an aggressive defense to help get them the early lead. The Pilgrims played a better team basketball with only having 7 turnover on the night and getting everyone involved in the game. Every player that was available for the Pilgrims scored and were big contributors on the success of the game. Leading the Pilgrims were Parker Bagley with 12 points and 5 rebounds, Hayden Feldman with 9 points and 5 rebounds, Grady Metsker 7 points and 5 rebounds. Also chipping in the action was Kaden Milliser with 6 points and 3 rebounds and Parker Wolfe 5 points and 3 rebounds. The win for the JV Pilgrims moves the record to 4-0. The Varsity Pilgrims jumped out early but a tough nosed Jimtown team battled back and scrapped their way back in the game but would ultimaley would lose 53 to 66 to the host Pilgrims. The Pilgrims would jump out from the tip and get a 8 point lead heading into the 2nd quarter but foul trouble would allow the Jimmies to get back into the game. A big 3rd quarter from the Pilgrims would help the Plymouth with extend their lead to make things more difficult for the Jimmies. Leading the Pilgrims was Kadyn Ellery who scored 20 points, while Coby Walters chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds while Preston Wolfe continues to be the sharp shooter behind the arc going 4 of 6 from the 3 point line and finishing with 12 points. Coach Grindle was stated in saying, "Very proud of our guys for sticking together and battling through the game. Guys had to step up and we found a way to win our first test of a big week." The Pilgrims will now get ready to battle Mishawaka Marian in the WHME game of the week. JV Tip off is set for 6:15 PM, with the win the Pilgrims move to 3-1 while Jimtown is now 0-3. Friday we will also honor our youth league teams during halftime of the JV game and in between games we will honor our August through December Scholar Athletes of the month and our corporate sponsor McDonalds before Varsity warm ups. Come pack the Rock and cheer the Pilgrims to victory.
