The Lady Pilgrims hosted the Goshen Lady Redhawks Saturday night to open up NLC basketball play. The Jv did an amazing job of getting the Lady Pilgrims off on the right foot by winning 42-18 in a great performance of sharing the basketball to all players on the team. The JV Lady Pilgrims shot 53% from the field and played tough defense to keep Goshen to just 18 points for the game. Leading the way for the Pilgrims was Taylor Hauptmann scoring 13 points, Olivia Warner getting 9 points and Peyton Ellinger getting 8 points and 5 rebounds. The Varsity Lady Pilgrims kept us all on the edge of our seat for the last 2 minutes of the game holding on for a big NLC win defeating Goshen 40-38 that saw plenty of lead changes. The Lady Pilgrims did an amazing job of playing team defense shutting down Goshen's lead scorer and executed down the stretch when they needed to. The Lady Pilgrims trailed at half 15-12 but would go on a big 12-0 run to start the 4th quarter. Leading for the Lady Pilgrims were Mady Sullivan coming off the bench and getting 10 points, Lena Jones had 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Sophie Miller chipped in 8 points and 3 assists, Tynley Gantz had 7 points and Rylee Mann scored 5 points and 5 rebounds for the night. The win moves the Lady Pilgrims to 5-4 overall and 1-0 in the NLC. Next game for the Lady Pilgrims is Saturday, December 9th when they host Warsaw with JV tip at 6 PM.
