The Pilgrims were in the pool again this week hosting NLC Goshen and Northridge on Thursday night. The Pilgrims Lady Pilgrims were able to split the meet defeating Goshen 108 to 78 while fighting hard losing to a tough and deep Northridge team with a score of 70 to 113. The boys would swim hard and get a lot of improved times but the depth of both Goshen and Northridge were just too much for the Pilgrims. Scores for the boys were against Goshen 52 to 133 and Northridge was 47 to 129. Highlights from the pool though were Madi Hauptmann winning the girls diving with a score of 171.65. Vivan Wheeler got 1st overall in the 100 breaststroke and the 500 free. Joseph Stauffer got 2nd in the 50 free and the 100 backstroke. Claire Lewandowski won the 200 free while Taylor Shadek got 2nd overall in the 100 backstroke. The girls took first in all 3 relays vs Goshen while the boys took got first in the 200 free relay against Goshen. Coach Stegelmann was very pleased and proud of the Pilgrims with how they swam with it being a 3 meet week and the Pilgrims coming out swimming so well against very tough NLC swimming opponents. This was the first time since Coach Stegelmann took over the program that the girls have defeated Goshen in the regular season. The Pilgrims host the Pilgrim Relays on Saturday, December 2nd at the Dr. Susan Bardwell Aquatic Center Leanne Senter Pool. Swimming starts at 9 am. The concession stand will be open and will be serving breakfast burritos.
