The Lady Pilgrims traveled to New Prairie to open their season against a veteran Lady Cougar team. The Pilgrims would battle all game but would fall short losing 45-52. Leading the charge for the Lady Pilgrims was Mady Sullivan going 5 of 9 behind the 3 point line leading scoring for the Pilgrims with 15. Lena Jones and Sophie Miller both chipped in 8 points a piece while Rylee Mann grabbed 13 rebounds. The defense forced a veteran Cougar team to 17 turnovers and making the Cougar offense work for every possession. Although the Lady Pilgrims played tough and made some things difficult Coach Schalliol said that the Lady Pilgrims need to do a better job finishing around the rim and clearing our opponents out on box outs but was very happy with the energy the team brought and was great to see that on the court and made it very easy to coach these young ladies. The Pilgrims are back in action Tuesday, November 7th when they travel to Mishawaka Marian.
