Saturday Sophie Wray competed in the IHSAA State Cross Country race at LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute. Out of 250 individual runners and 25 teams, Sophie ran a very strategic race taking advantage of the hills and other certain points within the race. Being able to use her long strides up the gradual hill at the 3K helped put her in position to be in the top 25. Sophie would finish her career running for the Pilgrims by placing 17th overall and earning All-State status. Sophie ran a time of 18:15 smashing her previous school record by 42 seconds. The coaches are extremely proud of Sophie and her effort, work, and dedication to the sport and what she has put into running.
