The Lady Pilgrims traveled to Walkerton last night and took on the host Glenn Falcons. The Lady Pilgrims came out on the winning end defeating the Falcons in both JV and Varsity. The JV Pilgrims would win 25-21 for both sets. The JV demonstrated their resiliency and overcoming a large deficit during the middle of the second set to close out the match. The ladies remained positive, gritty, and stayed together when they could have easily shut down. The win moves the JV record to 8-9 overall and 1-4 in the NLC. The JV Pilgrims will be home Thursday to take on the Redhawks of Goshen before heading to Warsaw Saturday to play in the NLC tournament. The Varsity Pilgrims won in 3 straight sets with scores being 25-18, 25-20, 25-18.Coach Fagan was very pleased with the way the hitters were attacking the ball and executing the game plan at the net. It was a great win over a scrappy Glenn defense with getting 14 aces and only having 4 errors. Leading the Lady Pilgrims was Tynley Gantz with 7 digs and going 12/13 is serve receiving. Marley Christy went 15/16 in hitting and 16/16 on serves and 12 assists with 15 digs. Haylee Busse had 10 digs, 9/9 on serve receiving and went 5/7 on serves. The Lady Pilgrims win moves their overall record to 11-14 and 2-3 in the NLC. They host Goshen on Thursday where we will honor our seniors. JV will start things off at 5:30 PM.
