The JV Rockies came out continued the momentum from Culver and came out and beat a tough CMA team by a score of 6-1. Culver Academy was a good team that were fast and able to move the ball very quickly. The team did a great job of working together and move the ball and wore down the Eagles to get 4 goals in the 2nd half. Carols Castillo led the Rockies on defense leading with 7 steals. Carlos Nieves had 2 goals and 2 assists, Uriel Rebollo had 2 goals on 3 shots while Isaak Hutchinson and 2 goals on 3 shots as well. The Jv Rockies travel to Goshen to compete in the NLC JV tournament. The win moves the JV Rockies to 5-2 on the season. The Varsity Rockies battled against a fast paced CMA team that attacks the whole game. The Rockie offense would get 9 shots on goal but couldn't get past the Eagle goalie of Jack Christiansen. Plymouth striker and top NLC goalscorer Diego Zelaya had 5 shots on goal but just couldn't get it past. Giancarlo Arriaga shined in his midfield play on his Rockie varsity debut passing quickly and effectively to help the Rockie offense attack downfield. The Rockie defense was busy trying to slow down the Eagles offense. The Rockies would lose 0-6 but there is still a lot of soccer to be played and will continue to learn and grow from this contest. The Rockies are back at home on Thursday, when they host the NLC Mishawaka Cavemen for Senior Night. This will be varsity only contest starting at 6 pm.
