Tennis - Pilgrims Fight Rainy Conditions and Concord

The Pilgrims tennis team not only had a tough opponent in Concord but also had to fight mother nature with the rainy conditions in last nights tennis action. After 5 rain delays, the Minutemen came out on top 4-1. Despite missing 2 singles player James Kruyer due to illness the revamped Pilgrims lineup competed well against the Minutemen. Trent Van Duyne made some big strides in the right direction with battling back from 6-1, 4-1 deficit to win 5 consecutive games to force a 3rd set. 1 singles Martin Baca played his best and most complete match of the season bringing high energy, intensity, and effort in his thrilling three set win. The JV won 4-1 over the Minutemen. Aiden Landis and Alex Kizer won the singles matches and both doubles teams of Hayden Feldman-Owen Walleske and Brice Hoover-Landon Tyler. The Varsity will travel Saturday when they head to Lafayetter Jeff to play in their Booster Club tourney starting at 9 am. The JV will host their Plymouth Tourney on Mary Beth Hunter Tennis Complex with action starting at 9 am.
