The Rockies football team finally ended the 21 game losing streak on Friday by defeating the Calumet Tech Warriors 27-8. It was a beautiful night for football and the Plymouth High School was honoring the FFA and had a mini cheer clinic for all the little girls that have hopes of becoming a Rockie Cheerleader. It was a great atmosphere and the fans were packed for the first time in a long time at the RockPile. The Rockies would feed of the energy from the crowd and came out scoring on the opening drive with a touchdown pass from Exzander Ramirez to Blake Mackey. The defense would then force a 3 and out and give the ball back to the offense. Scoring again in the quarter this time Ramirez calling his own number and getting in on a 2 yard run.The Rockies defense would dominate the 1st quarter but in the last minute of the first half would give up a touchdown pass and the 2 point play to give the Warriors a little life heading to the break.. Coming out of halftime the Rockies would go back to their ways of the 1st quarter and dominate the field. The Rockies offense would find their rhythm again in the second half and scored once in the 3rd and another in the 4th. The Rockies offense exploded for a total of 458 yards while the defense only gave up a total of 127 yards. The Rockies have a tough test next week when they head to Columbia City to take on the Eagles who defeated their first week opponent Churubusco 49-8.
